YouTube TV Subscribers Can Get 4 Months of Max for Free With NFL Sunday Ticket

Are you looking for a way to watch the latest season of “House of the Dragon,” or the upcoming Batman-related series “The Penguin” for free? If so, YouTube TV has a great offer for you. The live TV streaming service is allowing subscribers who sign up for NFL Sunday Ticket this season to get a four-month free trial of the Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service Max, which will take them almost all the way through the 2024 NFL season.

The offer of four free months of Max combined with NFL Sunday Ticket was first put in front of customers in 2023, the first season that YouTube TV served as host of the out-of-market games service. At that time, the offer was only available to customers who subscribed to both YouTube TV and NFL Sunday Ticket, meaning NFL fans who purchased Sunday Ticket a la carte through YouTube TV Primetime Channels did not get the deal. That’s likely the case again in 2024.

To get the four free months of Max, YouTube TV customers must first add Sunday Ticket. The service will cost $379 for the season after a recent price increase. Once you’ve got Sunday Ticket added, you can find the free trial of Max in the “Settings” section. After your four months of free Max service are over, customers will be charged the full $16.99 per month for a Max subscription.

That implies that the Max plan subscribers will get if they take advantage of this deal will be the ad-free tier of the service. That would be interesting since most extended free trials of this nature usually give customers access to only the ad-supported plan of their streaming service. This allows streaming operators to collect ad revenue from these customers, which is a plus since they don’t get any subscription dollars from viewers on long trials.

Taking advantage of the trial will get you all the content found on Max, including premium TV shows from HBO, including the new documentary “Chimp Crazy,” movies such as “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” and live sports like NBA and NHL regular season and playoff contests through the currently-free Bleacher Report Sports add-on.

What Else is New With NFL Sunday Ticket This Season?

Fully customizable multiview comes to YouTube TV and NFL Sunday Ticket for the first time this season.

There are several updates to NFL Sunday Ticket this season, but unfortunately for viewers, many of them revolve around a higher price for the service. YouTube TV recently began offering Sunday Ticket in the Apple Store for the first time, but because it has to contend with the 30% commission Apple takes from any products or services sold in its digital store, the price of subscribing to the service this way is $679 per season and up.

On the plus side for NFL Sunday Ticket customers, there’s a better way to enjoy multiple games at once on the service this year. YouTube TV has upgraded its multiview feature to be fully customizable for the first time this season, allowing fans to build their own view of up to four games at once with action across the league.

NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers who are YouTube TV customers can still bundle their service with the NFL RedZone channel this season, or grab RedZone through the Sports Plus add-on pack. There are multiple combinations with Sunday Ticket now available, including the latest offer of four free months of Max with a subscription.
