When will ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Season 3 come out?
There has been no official release date for “Rings of Power” Season 3 confirmed by Amazon. The season will commence filming sometime in spring 2025, which means fans probably won’t see it until 2026 at the earliest. The previous two seasons of the show came out in late August or early September, so a premiere date of Aug./Sept. 2026 seems reasonably likely.
What happened in Season 2 of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’?
Season 2 of “The Rings of Power” told several different stories. In the Elven land of Eregion, Sauron has deceived the famed smith Celebrimbor by disguising himself as Annatar, an emissary of the god-like Valar. Together, Annatar and Celebrimbor forge the Rings of Power — nine for the lords of Men, and seven for the leaders of the dwarves.
In the dwarven kingdom of Khazad-Dum, the ring awarded to King Durin III is already working its unwholesome magic. Prince Durin IV doesn’t trust Annatar or his gift, and when the king orders his people to dig too deeply, they unearth a horrific creature — a balrog who has been trapped under the mountain for centuries.
Far to the east, the Stranger continues his quest to learn more about his true identity. Aided by his friends Nori and Poppy, the Stranger meets a mysterious figure named Tom Bombadil. Realizing his mission to aid his friends from the Dark Wizard, the Stranger finally remembers his real name — Gandalf.
Finally, on the island of Numenor, Queen Tar-Miriel faces a growing backlash from her people against the elves and their immortality. Her cousin Pharazon navigates the tides of politics to gain increased power, vaulting himself to the throne when he joins the anti-elvish sentiment growing on the island.
