It looks like Amazon is doing more with IMDb TV than just rebranding it. Customers now have a new place where they can find the recently renamed ad-supported video on demand (AVOD) service as on Monday, Freevee went live on Apple TV devices.

Since changing its name last month, Freevee has been aggressive about unveiling new programming. In addition to the premiere of “Bosch: Legacy,” the spin-off of long-running Prime Video hit “Bosch,” the service also debuted the second season of “Pretty Hard Cases” and announced several new original shows, including cooking contest “America’s Test Kitchen: The Next Generation” and family-oriented competition “Play-Doh Squished.”

The AVOD streamer also has an eclectic, ever-expanding library including popular favorites such as “Deal or No Deal,” “Bewitched,” “Shark Tale,” “Logan,” the Deadpool movies, and “The Post.” Freevee is also home to established exclusive linear channels that will run shows such as beloved Canadian sitcom “Kim’s Convenience” and classic episodes of “The Kids in the Hall”; new episodes of the iconic sketch comedy debuted on Prime Video this month.

Freevee is available to stream on Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV 4K, Google Chromecast, Roku, Android TV, iPhone/iPad, Android Phone/Tablet, Mac, Windows, PlayStation, Xbox, LG Smart TV, Samsung Smart TV, Sony Smart TV, and VIZIO Smart TV.

Freevee

Freevee video streaming service was Amazon’s free, ad-supported streaming service offering a mix of movies, TV shows, live FAST channels, and original programming. Originally launched as IMDb TV before rebranding to Amazon Freevee in 2022, the service featured licensed library content alongside exclusives such as “Jury Duty,” “Bosch: Legacy,” and “Judy Justice.” Its lineup spanned drama, comedy, reality, true crime, and family programming, along with curated live channels covering news, sports highlights, and classic TV.

In 2024, Amazon began phasing out the Freevee brand and integrating its content directly into Prime Video. Rather than operating as a standalone app, Freevee’s free, ad-supported programming is now available within the Prime Video platform under dedicated free sections. Viewers do not need a Prime membership to access this content, though ads are included. The service shut down fully in September 2025.

Freevee programming can be streamed on smart TVs, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, gaming consoles, mobile devices, and web browsers through the Prime Video app. With its transition to Prime Video, the service’s free library continues to offer a wide range of on-demand and live streaming options for viewers looking to watch without a subscription.

With its blend of recognizable library titles, original series, and live channels, Freevee helped establish Amazon as a major player in the FAST space before being folded into the broader Prime Video experience.
