Apple TV+ to Make Charlie Brown Holiday Specials Free Again in 2024
‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown’ and other specials will be streamed at no cost on select dates this holiday season.
It’s officially fall in the United States, and that means the holiday season is right around the corner. One of the most beloved holiday traditions in the country is when families gather around their televisions to watch Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving-themed animated specials featuring Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang. Apple TV+ holds the rights to stream these specials year-round, but is following through on an annual tradition to provide them free for limited viewing windows.

Apple TV+ will make each of the best-known Peanuts holiday specials available for free viewing weekends. First up is “It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” which will be available Saturday, Oct. 20 and Sunday, Oct. 21. This special sees Charlie Brown busily preparing to host a Halloween party, while Linus sets his sights on the pumpkin patch, awaiting a yearly miracle.
Next comes “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” which will be free from Saturday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 24. Charlie is headed to his grandmother’s for Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t stop Peppermint Patty from inviting the gang over to his house to celebrate anyway!
Finally, “A Charlie Brown Christmas” will be free from Saturday, Dec. 14 to Sunday, Dec. 15. Lucy isn’t feeling so great about the commercialization of Christmas, and appoints Charlie to be the director of the group’s special holiday play. Soon frustrated by their lack of commitment, Charlie would rather spend his time trying to find the perfect Christmas tree.
