Tom Cruise fans, this is the one streamer you need

Paramount+ has the best collection of Tom Cruise movies you’ll find anywhere.

With a background in film and branded content, he covers sports and entertainment with sharp insight and creativity. A longtime Oilers fan, he’s still holding out hope for a Stanley Cup run.
Where to watch best Tom Cruise movies

Tom Cruise has had one of the wildest careers in Hollywood — starting with “Risky Business,” leveling up with hits like “Top Gun,” and now, somehow, still jumping out of planes and setting parachutes on fire in “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” which just hit theaters. If you’re looking to scratch that Tom Cruise itch — whether you’re looking for his early charm, his sci-fi mind-benders, or just pure blockbuster action — there’s one clear streamer that delivers: Paramount+. Here’s why it’s the best streamer for Tom Cruise fans.

Everything you need to know about the best streamer for Tom Cruise movies.

What ‘Mission: Impossible’ movies can you watch on Paramount+?

The answer is all of them. Paramount+ is the only place you can stream every single “Mission: Impossible” movie. You’ve got the original “Mission: Impossible” from 1996, where Cruise first dangled from the ceiling in that iconic heist scene. Then there’s “Mission: Impossible II,” which leans all the way into early-2000s action vibes, and “Mission: Impossible III,” which gave the franchise some real emotional stakes (shoutout to Philip Seymour Hoffman’s villain).

From there, it just levels up: “Ghost Protocol” is the one with Cruise climbing the Burj Khalifa, “Rogue Nation” has that opera house sequence, and “Fallout” might have the best stunts of the bunch.

That said, my personal favorite is still “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.” There’s just something about the pacing, the train scene, and the way it ties all the chaos together that really hits. It’s also the most interesting version of Ethan Hunt — still unbreakable, but a little more human. And if you’ve already seen that one and are counting down to the next chapter, “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” is in theaters now and expected to hit Paramount+ later this summer. Let’s go!

What ‘Top Gun’ movies can you watch on Paramount+?

Paramount+ has both “Top Gun” and “Top Gun: Maverick” ready to stream, so whether you’re a diehard from day one or just catching up, you’re covered. The original is pure ‘80s adrenaline — leather jackets, volleyball montages, and that Kenny Loggins hit, “Danger Zone.” Tom Cruise plays hotshot pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, a guy who flies like he’s got nothing to lose and gets sent to the Navy’s elite flight school to learn a little discipline (spoiler: he mostly learns how to be even cooler).

Then there’s “Top Gun: Maverick,” which somehow pulls off the impossible — it’s a legacy sequel that actually lives up to the original. Cruise is back, older but still reckless, this time training a new batch of pilots for a near-impossible mission. It’s slick, emotional, and loaded with real aerial stunt work that makes it feel totally different from other blockbusters. If you want to see Cruise at his most iconic — both then and now — this double feature on Paramount+ is the way to go.

  • Top Gun

    May 16, 1986

For Lieutenant Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell and his friend and co-pilot Nick ‘Goose’ Bradshaw, being accepted into an elite training school for fighter pilots is a dream come true. But a tragedy, as well as personal demons, will threaten Pete’s dreams of becoming an ace pilot.

  • Top Gun: Maverick

    May 21, 2022

After more than 30 years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) finds himself training a detachment of TOP GUN graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen.

This crowd-pleasing action flick dominated the box office for most of 2022. The cast includes Val Kilmer, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, and Glen Powell.

What sci-fi Tom Cruise movies can you watch on Paramount+?

Paramount+ has a tight little trio of sci-fi Cruise picks, and they’re all worth checking out. First up is “Vanilla Sky,” a trippy, dream vs. reality head-spinner that’s part romance, part psychological sci-fi. Then there’s “War of the Worlds,” Spielberg and Cruise’s alien invasion epic — big, loud, and full of panic.

But my favorite has to be “Minority Report,” which is Spielberg and Cruise at their sharpest. The whole pre-crime setup, the tech, the pace — it still holds up. If you’re in the mood for slick, smart sci-fi, this is the one to start with.

  • Vanilla Sky

    December 14, 2001

David Aames has it all: wealth, good looks and gorgeous women on his arm. But just as he begins falling for the warmhearted Sofia, his face is horribly disfigured in a car accident. That’s just the beginning of his troubles as the lines between illusion and reality, between life and death, are blurred.

  • Minority Report

    June 20, 2002

John Anderton is a top ‘Precrime’ cop in the late-21st century, when technology can predict crimes before they’re committed. But Anderton becomes the quarry when another investigator targets him for a murder charge.

  • War of the Worlds

    June 28, 2005

Ray Ferrier is a divorced dockworker and less-than-perfect father. Soon after his ex-wife and her new husband drop off his teenage son and young daughter for a rare weekend visit, a strange and powerful lightning storm touches down.

What other Tom Cruise movies can you watch on Paramount+?

Not every Tom Cruise movie is about saving the world or jumping off buildings — some of his best work is just him being a total movie star in grounded roles. “Risky Business” is the one that started it all, with Cruise sliding across the floor in his underwear and somehow turning teen rebellion into an art form. Then there’s “Days of Thunder,” which basically puts “Top Gun” on wheels and lets Cruise do his thing in a stock car.

“The Firm” takes a more serious turn — Cruise as a hotshot young lawyer slowly realizing his new job is way more dangerous than it looks. And don’t forget “The Last Samurai,” where he leans hard into historical drama, playing a broken Civil War vet who ends up finding purpose in Japan.

There are also a few oddball picks in the mix, and they’re just as fun. “Jack Reacher” gives us a tough, no-nonsense drifter who shows up, solves crimes, and wrecks people — Cruise keeping it simple, quiet, and dangerous. “Lions for Lambs” is a political drama where he plays a slick senator trying to sell a war strategy — definitely a change of pace.

And if you want to see him totally unrecognizable (and hilarious), “Tropic Thunder” is the one. He’s in a fat suit, bald, and dancing to Ludacris — yes, really. It’s not a huge role, but it’s one of the most memorable things he’s ever done.

  • Tropic Thunder

    August 9, 2008

A group of self-absorbed actors set out to make the most expensive war film ever. After ballooning costs force the studio to cancel the movie, the frustrated director refuses to stop shooting, leading his cast into the jungles of Southeast Asia, where they encounter real bad guys.

  • The Firm

    June 30, 1993

Mitch McDeere is a young man with a promising future in Law. About to sit his Bar exam, he is approached by ‘The Firm’ and made an offer he doesn’t refuse. Seduced by the money and gifts showered on him, he is totally oblivious to the more sinister side of his company. Then, two Associates are murdered. The FBI contact him, asking him for information and suddenly his life is ruined. He has a choice - work with the FBI, or stay with the Firm. Either way he will lose his life as he knows it. Mitch figures the only way out is to follow his own plan…

  • Jack Reacher

    December 20, 2012

One morning in an ordinary town, five people are shot dead in a seemingly random attack. All evidence points to a single suspect: an ex-military sniper who is quickly brought into custody. The interrogation yields one written note: ‘Get Jack Reacher!’. Reacher, an enigmatic ex-Army investigator, believes the authorities have the right man but agrees to help the sniper’s defense attorney. However, the more Reacher delves into the case, the less clear-cut it appears. So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.

  • Days of Thunder

    June 27, 1990

Talented but unproven stock car driver Cole Trickle gets a break and with the guidance of veteran Harry Hogge turns heads on the track. The young hotshot develops a rivalry with a fellow racer that threatens his career when the two smash their cars. But with the help of his doctor, Cole just might overcome his injuries— and his fear.
