New unscripted titles
Fans of reality TV and docuseries will love having a subscription to the MyEntertainment plan this month. Staying in the unscripted realm, a new docuseries titled “Tropic Like it’s Hot” will bow on HGTV on April 6. The show explores some of the most steamy, enticing corners of the planet, and follows house-hungry buyers as they hunt a new, tropical love nest. The homes are breathtaking, but the buyers will probably steal the show.
Finally, there’s the “One Day in My Body” docuseries premiere on TLC on April 15. The show follows people with some of the rarest medical conditions on Earth, including a person who’s allergic to water, and a woman who ages at an unbelievably rapid rate. New seasons of ‘Hacks’ and ‘Euphoria’
A DIRECTV MyEntertainment subscription includes more than just linear TV channels. It also comes with subscriptions to Disney+, HBO Max, and Hulu, and HBO Max in particular has some hotly anticipated premieres rolling out in April.
We’ll start with the fifth and final season of “Hacks,” which premieres on HBO Max on April 9. Still trying to shake off rumors that she died, Deborah Vance is back in the United States and determined to pull her writing partner, Ava, along for one last wave of success before riding off into the sunset.
Next comes the third season of “Euphoria,” which debuts on HBO Max on April 12. After not releasing new episodes for four years, “Euphoria” will catch up with Rue and her peers after a similar time jump. Now into adulthood, the characters of “Euphoria” will find that they haven’t left the issues of their pasts behind just because they’ve done a little growing.

‘Malcolm in the Middle’ revival
Hulu has been a hub for revivals and reboots of late, and is preparing to roll out another. “Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair” will stream on Hulu starting on April 10. The show finds Malcolm fairly well-adjusted and happy — unsurprising considering he hasn’t had any contact with his family in years.
But when Hal and Lois invite him to come home to celebrate their wedding anniversary with the whole family, Malcolm knows he can’t say no. Prepared for the worst, he heads home to face not only his parents but the siblings with whom he created endless hours of chaos as a youth.
Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair
After shielding himself and his daughter from his family for over a decade, Malcolm is dragged back into their orbit when Hal and Lois demand his presence at their 40th anniversary party.
New animated Star Wars series
The Star Wars franchise has had a very hard time killing off the Darth Maul character for good. Maul has become a fan favorite, and this month, he gets his own animated series on Disney+. “Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord” premieres on the streamer on April 6.
The show follows the former Sith lord in the early days of the Empire, as he tries to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet thus far outside the Imperial domain. He’ll have to recruit some unlikely allies to bring his plans to fruition, however.
