Can You Stream ‘Madame Web’ Now? When Will Latest ‘Spider-Man’ Universe Movie Stream on Netflix, Disney+?
Sony has radically reimagined the Madame Web character, and fans can catch her new movie in theaters today!
You won’t have to go to the Amazon to see “Madame Web” this weekend. The latest movie from Sony set in the Spider-Man universe is now in theaters, having been officially released in the United States on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
- “Madame Web” joins “Morbius” and “Venom” as Sony films centering on characters from the Spider-Man universe.
- The film deviates dramatically from the portrayal of the Madame Web character from Marvel Comics.
- Despite poor reviews, the film will probably not become available to stream for quite some time.

“Madame Web” starts Dakota Johnson as the titular character, Cassandra Webb. Far from the blind, fully clairvoyant eccentric that fans will remember from the comic books, Johnson’s Webb is a paramedic in New York City who begins to realize she has strange powers. As Cassie becomes more aware of her powers she starts to fear she’s going insane, but she soon realizes she’s entering a universe more broad and terrifying than she ever imagined.
As expected from reactions to the film’s trailer, critics have not been kind to “Madame Webb.” The film currently sports a 14% score on Rotten Tomatoes, but for some audiences this will no doubt lend to a morbid curiosity around the film that will make it impossible to ignore.

When and Where Will ‘Madame Web’ Be Available to Stream?
Netflix signed a Pay-1 deal with Sony in 2021 to stream all Sony Pictures releases first, in a deal the streamer may be regretting these days. That means that once “Madame Web” is done in theaters, it will go to Netflix for on-demand streaming for an exclusive 18-month period.
After Netflix, “Madame Web” will stream on Disney+, joining other Spider-Man titles on that service. That solves the question of “where” the movie will stream once it leaves theaters, but the more difficult question of “when” it will head to streaming still remains.
Despite poor reviews, “Madame Web” will likely see an extended stay in theaters. The recent case of “Morbius” springs to mind when conjecturing about the streaming date for “Madame Web”; that movie also features a secondary character from the Spider-Man world, and like “Madame Web” it drew a highly dubious response from critics and audiences. Nevertheless, “Morbius” took 159 days to reach Netflix after its theatrical debut.
For now, The Streamable’s experts have not seen any evidence that Sony is deviating from its release strategy. The company has to squeeze as much ticket revenue out of its films as possible, as it does not have a streaming service of its own to put the movie on after it leaves cinemas. Our official prediction is that “Madame Webb” will stream on Netflix on Friday, July 12, around 150 days from its original debut in theaters. That would send it to Disney+ in January of 2026!
