Missouri Valley basketball coming to Chicago Sports Network
Missouri Valley basketball coming to Chicago Sports Network
Men’s and women’s basketball from the conference is available to watch on the channel now.
The Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) is bucking the trend of other regional sports networks. Instead of dropping teams to try to streamline its financial operations, the network is adding more sports content. On Wednesday, the channel announced that it was adding college basketball from the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), including parts of its year-end tournament to determine a champion.
Key Details:
- CHSN will offer both live and tape-delayed games under the terms of the deal.
- Four Illinois-based teams in the conference will be available on the channel.
- The deal will cover both men’s and women’s basketball games.
The deal will bring men’s and women’s college basketball games from the MVC to CHSN, both live and on tape-delay. Coverage of the conference’s basketball games began on Dec. 18 and will continue throughout the rest of the 2024-25 season.
“We are excited to deepen our commitment to Chicago and Midwest sports by bringing Missouri Valley Conference basketball to CHSN,” said CHSN Executive Producer Joe Riley. “The conference has many devoted fans in the Chicagoland area, and we look forward to becoming a premier destination for them to watch their favorite MVC teams.”
The deal will allow four Illinois-based colleges to air on the channel, including the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), Bradley University, Illinois State University (ISU), and Southern Illinois University (SIU). In addition to regular season games, the deal will also cover the first and quarterfinal rounds of the men’s conference championship tournament.
Check out a schedule of MVC games on CHSN below. Viewers in Chicago can watch the channel with DIRECTV STREAM or Fubo, or over-the-air on channels 62.2 and 62.3. CHSN also has a direct-to-consumer service that allows local viewers to watch its content without cable.
