Crunchyroll Announces Spring Release Schedule with More Than 40 New and Returning Titles
April will see some hotly anticipated new shows coming to Crunchyroll, along with new seasons of fan-favorites.
As some parts of the United States get buried in snow this week, it can be hard to remember that spring is just around the corner. Thankfully, the world’s largest anime streaming service Crunchyroll is preparing for spring by unveiling a huge schedule of new releases coming to its platform next month. The Sony-owned streamer will release more than 40 titles in April, with seven dropping on April 1.

Crunchyroll currently has 13 million paid subscribers, an impressive total for a streaming service that serves up a genre of content with such a relatively narrow, but hugely passionate audience. That audience might not be so narrow after all; Crunchyroll president Rahul Parini recently estimated there are as many as 800 million anime fans worldwide.
Crunchyroll has three subscription tiers, starting at $7.99 per month and increasing from there. The streamer has done important work to expand its availability in recent months, as its app has become available on Samsung smart TVs as well as LG sets since the start of February.
