Turn that frown upside down with ‘Pluribus’
The new sci-fi series from Vince Gilligan has already been picked up for a second season.
Misery loves company, but never before on a scale like this. That’s the basic premise of the series “Pluribus,” which comes from “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan. The show is billed as a genre-bending, sci-fi drama, and it will make its debut on Apple TV+ this fall. Before the show premieres, we run through all of the details we have so far!
Everything you need to know about ‘Pluribus’
What is ‘Pluribus’ about?
There aren’t many details about “Pluribus” available just yet, but the basic premise has been revealed by Apple TV+. The show follows the most miserable person in the world, who is tasked with saving the planet from happiness itself. What kind of tactics will this Captain Bringdown employ to save her fellow humans — even if she doesn’t really want to?
Who will star in ‘Pluribus’?
“Pluribus” will reunite “Better Call Saul” Emmy nominee Rhea Seehorn with Gilligan. While Seehorn never quite got the acclaim that she deserved for playing Kim Wexler, with the track record of Gilligan to turn out hits and Apple TV+’s growing level of acclaim in the industry, the multi-talent performer might finally get the accolades she deserves.
She will be joined in the show by series regulars Karolina Wydra and Carlos Manuel Vesga, while the first season’s guest stars will include Miriam Shor and Samba Schutte.
Who is the production team of “Pluribus”?
“Breaking Bad” writer and director Vince Gilligan is executive producing “Pluribus,” alongside WGA Award-winner Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, Allyce Ozarski, and Jeff Frost. Jenn Carroll and Trina Siopy will also serve as co-executive producers.

Apple TV
Apple TV (formerly known as Apple TV+) is a subscription video streaming service for $14.99 per month, offering a growing slate of original series, films, documentaries, and specials. Unlike other platforms that combine licensed titles with originals, Apple TV is built entirely around exclusive programming, making it the home of critically acclaimed hits such as “Ted Lasso,” “Severance,” “The Morning Show,” and “Silo.” Its lineup continues to expand with award-winning dramas, comedies, family-friendly shows, and blockbuster original films like “CODA,” which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
