Paramount+ Announces New Thriller Starring Julia Garner
Paramount+ is showing up six months early to the Halloween party. The streamer announced on Friday the all-new original film “Apartment 7A,” a prequel to horror classic “Rosemary's Baby” starring Golden Globe winner and “Ozark” star Julia Garner.
Directed by Natalie Erika James (“Relic”), the psychological thriller will follow a struggling young dancer (Garner) who suffers a devastating injury and herself drawn in by dark forces when a peculiar, well-connected, older couple promises her a shot at fame. The film will be set in 1965 New York City and explore the story of what happened in the apartment before Rosemary moved in in the 1968 classic.
The film also stars two-time Oscar winner Dianne Wiest, Jim Sturgess, and Kevin McNally with Marli Siu, Andrew Buchan, Rosy McEwen, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.
“Apartment 7A” will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ this fall.
Jim Henson Documentary Coming to Disney+, Trailer Out Now
It’s time to play the music! It’s time to light the lights! Disney+ has released the official trailer for its upcoming “Jim Henson Idea Man,” directed by Ron Howard.
The feature-length documentary will chronicle the 36-year career of Henson, who, through his work on “The Muppets Show,” “Sesame Street,” and “Fraggle Rock,” created some of the world’s most cherished characters, including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and more. Henson also had multiple directorial successes on the big screen, including “The Dark Crystal” and “Labyrinth.”

Using never-before-seen personal archival home movies, photographs, sketches, and Henson’s personal diaries, as well as interviews from those closest to him, the documentary will give audiences an unprecedented and intimate look at the artist and visionary.
“Jim Henson Idea Man” will premiere Friday, May 31, exclusively on Disney+.

Paramount+ Debuts “Mayor of Kingstown” Season 3 Trailer
Make way for the Mayor. Paramount+ has released the official trailer for the upcoming third season of its original series “Mayor of Kingstown,” starring Jeremy Renner.
The original crime drama/thriller series follows the McLusky family of the fictional Kingstown, Michigan, “where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry” and the family has been acting as mediators between cops, criminals, inmates, prison guards, and politicians for decades.
The new season will see “a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city, and a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls.” It’s up to Mike McLusky (Renner) to end the war, but a familiar face from his past threatens to undermine his attempts to keep the peace.

The series’ ensemble also features co-creator Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Nishi Munshi, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Michael Beach, among others.
“Mayor of Kingston” Season 3 will premiere on Sunday, June 2, in the United States (Monday, June 3, in international markets).
Prime Video Sets New Marlon Wayans Special
Marlon Wayans is bringing everybody to therapy with him in his latest standup special.
Prime Video has set the date for “Marlon Wayans: Good Grief,” an all-new set from the veteran comedian, which will debut exclusively on the platform on Tuesday, June 4.
Taped at the iconic Apollo Theater in Harlem, “Marlon Wayans: Good Grief” is described as comedy meets therapy as Wayans works through the grief of having recently lost both of his parents. The new hour will cover meditations on “how his father taught him to be a man, the requirements to join the ‘Dead Mama Club,’ the surprises you encounter when changing your aging parents’ diapers, who is the funniest Wayans, and more.”
Wayans, who debuted his first comedy special in 2018 with Netflix’s “Woke-ish,” followed by three Max specials: “God Loves Me,” “Marlon Wayans: You Know What It Is,” and “Marlon Wayans Presents: The Headliners.”
