Does Disney+ have RSNs or local sports?
What you need to know about watching local and regional sports with a Disney+ subscription.
The evolution of Disney+ as a streaming service since its launch has been pretty impressive. The service is moving toward becoming a one-stop hub for all things Disney streaming, and now offers the Hulu library to bundle with subscribers so they don’t have to switch between apps as frequently.
Disney+ has also begun adding some sports from ESPN, but what about local sports and regional sports networks (RSNs)? Has the evolution at Disney+ progressed to include RSNs and local sports? Find out everything you need to know below.

Does Disney+ offer any local sports?
No — at least, not really. Local sports are most often found on broadcast channels like ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC, which carry NFL games featuring regional teams and more events throughout the sports hierarchy, including high school sports on some stations.
Disney+ does offer content from ABC stations from eight markets around the United States, but these are not complete live streams. Primetime entertainment and sports content are specifically excluded from the streams, which are mostly focused on news.
Disney+ does offer occasional nationally televised sports events (more on that below), and if your area’s team is playing, then in a way, the streamer is offering local sports. However, Disney+ is not the right platform for consistent local sports access.
Does Disney+ include RSNs?
No. RSNs like Altitude, [MSG Network], NESN, NBANetwork, and others take on the responsibility of carrying the vast majority of NBA, NHL, and MLB regular-season games for many teams. However, Disney+ does not carry any of these channels, and they are usually found either on live TV streaming services or on direct-to-consumer services.
What sports does Disney+ offer?
Disney+ offers a selection of nationally broadcast sporting events from ESPN. The sports schedule on Disney+ is completely at the discretion of the Disney higher-ups, but in the past has included animated versions of NFL and NHL games, as well as traditional broadcasts of marquee events, such as opening rounds of major golf and tennis tournaments.
In August 2026, Disney+ added a regular selection of weekly college football games from ESPN. However, none of these events meet the definition of local or regional sports, since they’re all nationally televised.
Where to watch local sports and RSNs
If you want to watch local sports and RSNs on the same streaming service, a live TV streaming service like DIRECTV or Fubo is the way to go. Both of these streamers have a wide range of RSNs available from coast to coast, and each has multiple packages with local broadcast channels available.
If you’re looking for a specific channel or set of channels and are wondering which service is the best choice, use our service matchmaker to connect yourself to the ideal streamer. Disney+ may not be the best way to watch local sports or RSNs, but the right service for you is out there!
