More and more programmers are finding ways to deliver their most popular content directly to consumers, bypassing distributors who charge big money for bloated channel packages that are usually stuffed with options viewers will never watch. Fox has done likewise; in 2025, Fox launched the Fox One streaming service, which allows viewers to watch content from the Fox broadcast channels, Fox News, FS1 and FS2, and more live.

When you watch these channels on a live TV streaming service or with a cable plan, you’ll see commercial breaks every few minutes. But what about Fox One? Can you cut out the ads when watching this content with a Fox One subscription? We’ll explain what you need to know below.

Does Fox One have ads?

Yes, Fox One has ads on live and on-demand content. There is no way to skip ads while watching live programming with a Fox One subscription, no matter which channel you’re streaming. Live events typically do not feature a pause, rewind, or fast-forward feature, so pausing playback, then fast-forwarding to skip through ads is not supported either.

Fox One also features a selection of on-demand content, and viewers can occasionally skip past ads while watching these titles. However, the ability to skip ads during on-demand content in the Fox One library may not be universal.

How many ads does Fox One show?

Streaming live programming on Fox One means watching as many ads as viewers see when watching the channels on TV. Ad revenue is critical to a company like Fox, and the company has little incentive to lower the number of ads it shows on streaming as compared to linear TV.

Is there any way to go ad-free with Fox One?

No, there is no way to watch Fox One without ads. The streamer does not offer an ad-free subscription tier of any kind, so if viewers want to watch Fox One at all, they will have to put up with the commercials that come with its live and on-demand programming.

Fox primetime titles stream the day after they air live on Hulu, which does have an ad-free tier. The streamer costs $21.49 per month on its own, but for just $0.50 more, viewers can bundle it with Disney+ Premium and watch Fox titles with no ads on either app.
