We explain all the details you need about the live sports access on Frndly TV here.
If you need to save money on streaming entertainment each month, and keep your kids away from programming that isn’t appropriate for their age group — all too common among the top streamers — [Frndy TV] is the perfect solution. Its plans start at just $7 per month, and while its channel package isn’t large, it does include A&E, Hallmark Channel, History, Lifetime, and more.
Fewer channels help Frndly TV maintain its lower price, but that can mean viewers see some sizable gaps in its programming. What about live sports? We explain whether Frndly offers any live sports content below.
What you need to know about live sports on Frndly TV
Does Frndly TV come with any live sports
The offering of local broadcast channels like ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC that offer sports like NFL games, college sports, and more can cost channel distributors like Frndly TV a huge amount of money. The company has chosen to skip those channels to help keep its package specially curated, so none of its sports are available with Frndly TV.
Likewise, Frndly doesn’t have any cable sports channels. ESPN is the most expensive cable channel for distributors to carry, and similar networks like FS1 and TNT are quite costly as well. They also don’t really fit with Frndly’s family-friendly-only programming philosophy, and aren’t included in a subscription.
Will Roku add live sports to Frndly TV?
Although Roku now owns Frndly TV, viewers shouldn’t expect it to radically make over the service by offering sports anytime soon. The Roku Channel carries some live sports for free, but those are also unlikely to join the Frndly platform.
