So, does Philo offer any live sports content? Our experts took a look through the streamer’s channel listings, and we’ll let you know if it allows you to stream any live sporting events or not.
What you need to know about watching live sports on Philo
Does Philo have any live sports channels?
No, there is no way to watch live sports networks like ESPN, FS1, or TNT with a Philo subscription. Likewise, the streamer does not carry ABC, CBS, Fox, or NBC in any markets, and the only sports-related content on the service is a pair of free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels in the Philo Free Channels listings: bein Sports Xtra, and MSG Sports Zone.
Cable sports channels are some of the most expensive programming a streaming service like Philo can carry, and the company prefers to keep its subscription rate lower by excluding these channels. That means fans shouldn’t expect Philo to make any major efforts to add live sports in the future.
Do any Philo add-ons have live sports?
The HBO Max subscription that is part of a Philo Core plan is ad-supported and cannot currently be upgraded to ad-free. However, the ability to change plans is coming, according to Philo, and when customers gain the ability to upgrade to ad-free HBO Max plans, they’ll also gain access to live streams of all live sporting events on TNT, TBS, and truTV through the HBO Max app. Only ad-free HBO Max customers are able to stream live sports on the service.
