TruTV is a cable and satellite television network in the United States known for its mix of reality shows, comedy, and live sports coverage. Originally launched as Court TV, the network rebranded as truTV in 2008, shifting its focus to unscripted entertainment, comedic programming, and sports. Popular shows on TruTV include “Impractical Jokers,” “Tacoma FD,” and “101 Places to Party Before You Die,” along with specials and reality-based series that offer a mix of humor and competition.
TruTV is also well known for its coverage of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament (March Madness), broadcasting select games each year alongside CBS, TBS, and TNT. Viewers can watch truTV through traditional cable and satellite providers, as it is included in many entertainment and sports packages.
For those who prefer streaming, truTV is available on services like Sling, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, and DIRECTV, with sports coverage also available through Max. Additionally, truTV content can be accessed through the network’s website and the TNT app with a valid TV provider login. Fubo does not currently offer TruTV.
You can stream truTV with a live TV streaming service (options listed below). No cable or satellite is needed. Start watching with a free trial or a discounted month-to-month streaming subscription.
In 2026, truTV will broadcast several games during the opening weekend of March Madness, contributing to the coverage across various networks. This extensive lineup underscores the sheer volume of basketball content available, necessitating multiple networks for full coverage. The arrangement, part of a television rights contract with CBS and Warner Bros. Discovery lasting through at least 2032 distributes the first and second-round games across these channels, with CBS and TBS taking over from the Sweet 16 round onwards.
You have four options to watch truTV online: You can watch with a 5-Day Free Trial of DIRECTV. You can also watch with Sling TV, which is also the cheapest way to watch other WBD-owned channels like TNT and TBS. Hulu Live TV and YouTube TV also carry the channel. Unfortunately, you cannot stream truTV with Philo or Fubo.
