ESPN to bundle new streamer with NFL+
The package will tide customers over until NFL Media content can officially launch on the new streaming service.
Thursday is going to be a very big day for ESPN. The company is launching its new streaming service on Aug. 21, giving viewers without pay-TV a way to watch its flagship channel and other cable networks for the first time. The new ESPN streamer will launch without the content acquired in the company’s new deal with the NFL, but to help viewers replicate that experience, ESPN will bundle its new streamer with NFL+ in 2025.
Key Details:
- Bundle up: The ESPN and NFL+ bundle will be priced at $40 per month.
- Network and RedZone: The combo will mean that customers can stream both NFL Network and NFL RedZone.
- Not until 2026: The NFL has agreed to sell NFL Network to ESPN, but the deal is subject to regulatory approval.
ESPN hosted a press event at the Walt Disney New York City headquarters on Tuesday to discuss more details about its forthcoming streaming product. As part of the presentation, it unveiled a new bundle of the ESPN streamer with NFL+, the streaming service run by the league itself.
The bundle will cost $40 per month. It will include the ESPN unlimited plan (normally $30 per month) and the NFL+ Premium tier ($15 per month by itself), allowing customers to save $5 off the price of buying these two services separately.
Bundling the two services together will allow viewers to stream both NFL Network and NFL RedZone, as well as watch all local and primetime games on mobile devices with their NFL+ subscription. “Monday Night Football” will be available thanks to ESPN, as well as all the football news and analysis that ESPN channels offer.
NFL Network is, of course, one of the properties acquired by ESPN in its recent deal with the NFL. But that transaction is still subject to approval by government regulators, so NFL Network cannot be distributed on the new ESPN streamer until that process is concluded, which is likely to happen sometime in 2026.
This will not be the only bundle available, including the new ESPN streaming service. At launch, viewers will be able to sign up for a special bundle of Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN unlimited for $30 per month — the same price as just signing up for ESPN itself — for their first year of service. In addition, ESPN will be available in a bundle with the new Fox One streaming service, at a price of $40 per month (a $10 discount).
ESPN Unlimited
ESPN launched its highly anticipated direct-to-consumer streaming service on August 21, 2025. For the first time, this service gives sports fans access to its full lineup of linear channels without a traditional cable or satellite subscription.
