ESPN Unlimited hiking prices in September
The sports platform is increasing rates by $2 per month or $20 per year.
The Worldwide Leader in Sports wants a little more of your money to keep watching. ESPN Unlimited, the direct-to-consumer service that allows subscribers to watch all sports events on ABC and ESPN channels, first launched last August at a starting price of $30 per month. As confirmed on the ESPN website, ESPN Unlimited will increase by $2 per month starting in September.
Key Details:
- Happy birthday: ESPN Unlimited is raising its subscription price one year after launch.
- In time for football: The price is rising on Sept. 17.
- Not for everyone: Early indications are that ESPN Unlimited subscribers who bundle with other services will not see prices rise.
ESPN Unlimited will increase from $30 to $32 per month, and the annual plan will jump from $300 to $320 per year. It’s less than a 10% increase overall, but as one of the most expensive direct-to-consumer platforms on the market, it’s still unwelcome news for subscribers.
The ESPN Select plan is also increasing in price, jumping from $13 to $14 per month and from $130 to $140 per year. ESPN Select houses the ESPN+ catalog, including on-demand titles and thousands of live sporting events, though not 100% of everything found on ESPN Unlimited.
The new prices will take effect starting Thursday, Sept. 17. That’s right at the start of football season, a strategic move on ESPN’s part. The platform carries “Monday Night Football” games each week of the NFL season, and a large slate of college football games from multiple conferences on Saturdays.
Thus far, it does not appear that any of ESPN Unlimited’s bundles are affected by the price increase — though that could still change. Viewers can bundle ESPN Unlimited with Disney+, Hulu, and the Fox direct-to-consumer platform Fox One. The Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited bundle starts at $36 per month, or viewers can upgrade to ad-free Disney+ and Hulu subscriptions for $45.

ESPN launched its highly anticipated direct-to-consumer streaming service on August 21, 2025. For the first time, this service gives sports fans access to its full lineup of linear channels without a traditional cable or satellite subscription.
