‘Beast Games’: Everything you need to know about MrBeast’s biggest challenge yet

A $5 million prize, 1,000 contestants, and challenges that push every limit to the max.

Beast Games debuts on Thursday, Dec. 19 with two episodes on Prime Video

I love a great competition show. I loved watching “Survivor” as a kid, and while I’ve fallen off the reality competition train, there is one show I am excited for… on Thursday, Dec. 19, Prime Video is debuting “Beast Games,” a new competition series hosted by YouTube star MrBeast. The show brings together 1,000 contestants from all walks of life, competing in physical, mental, and social challenges for a colossal $5 million prize - the biggest ever awarded in reality TV. Shot in a massive custom-built arena, the series showcases not just the competition but also the stories of the people vying for the life-changing money. With new episodes releasing weekly, here’s everything you need to know about “Beast Games.”

What time will episodes of ‘Beast Games’ come on Prime Video?

“Beast Games” will have 10 episodes, with a two-episode premiere on Thursday, Dec. 19. Then, you can expect new episodes released weekly. It’s not totally clear what time Prime Video will drop eps of the series, but 12:01 a.m. ET on Thursday, Dec. 19 is a good guess.

What is ‘Beast Games’ about?

“Beast Games” is a 10-episodes reality TV competition series from the one and only MrBeast, the YouTube star with plenty of experience pulling off larger-than-life challenges and massive giveaways. The show hits Prime Video on Thursday, Dec. 19 with the first two eps, and it’s already being called the biggest competition series ever made with a whopping $5 million prize on the line.

So, what kind of challenges can you expect? After I watched the trailer the answer is pretty much everything you can imagine (and probably a few things you can’t imagine). There are physical challenges, like how long you can hold on hanging from a bar how quickly you and your team can tow a monster truck, or how accurately you can throw a giant ping pong ball into a massive red cup. There are endurance challenges, like how long you can avoid being found by navy seals in the wilderness. And there are psychological challenges, like how long you can survive in a padded room without access to the outside world. Whether it’s sprinting through a giant maze, figuring out a tricky code to unlock a reward, or forming a team to take on a group challenge, every episode is designed to keep you on the edge of your seat. Plus, with MrBeast at the helm, you know the stakes will keep getting crazier as the show goes on.

But it’s not just about the challenges - it’s about the people. With 1,000 contestants, you know the production team has focused on only the most interesting personalities. Expect underdogs who surprise everyone, plenty of betrayals, and satisfying moments of teamwork when the pressure’s on. Each player has their own strategy, and with $5 million on the line, you can expect things to get heated. And let’s not forget MrBeast’s signature flair - over-the-top sets, high-energy hosting, and plenty of twists you won’t see coming.

All that said, the show’s production has gotten some heat. Some contestants have raised concerns about the tough conditions during filming, including not enough food or medical care, with five of them filing a proposed class-action lawsuit against the YouTube star’s production company and Amazon. But the show is going forward regardless. And love him or hate him, there’s no denying that MrBeast knows how to make things epic. If you’re into big competition shows like “Survivor” or “The Challenge,” or you’re just a fan of wild, unpredictable entertainment, “Beast Games” is definitely worth checking out.

MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is one of the biggest YouTube stars in the world. He’s famous for his challenges, giveaways, and charity work. Over the years, his videos have gotten bigger and crazier, with challenges offering prizes like houses, cars, and even private islands. His over-the-top style has made him a favorite with fans and one of the most-watched creators on YouTube. Now, he’s taking his creativity to the next level with “Beast Games,” bringing his epic challenges and larger-than-life ideas to his first TV show.
