The Bondsman drops on Prime Video on Thursday, April 3.

I’ll watch Kevin Bacon in just about anything. And now he’s heading to Hell and back - literally. “The Bondsman,” the latest supernatural series from Blumhouse Television, stars Bacon as Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who gets murdered, resurrected by the Devil, and put on a new mission: hunting down escaped demons. But as he tracks them down (with plenty of trouble from his estranged family), he starts questioning how he ended up on Hell’s bad side in the first place. Add in a mix of country music, dark humor, and some classic horror vibes, and this Prime Video original is shaping up to be one wild ride. All eight episodes drop on the platform on Thursday, April 3. Here’s everything you need to know about “The Bondsman.”

Everything you need to know about ‘The Bondsman’:

What is ‘The Bondsman’ about?

“The Bondsman” is an eight-episode supernatural crime thriller that throws Kevin Bacon into a job like no other - hunting down demons that have broken loose from Hell. Hub Halloran used to be a regular bounty hunter, but after a lifetime of bad choices, he ended up dead and on the wrong side of the afterlife. The Devil, however, has other plans. He brings Hub back to the land of the living, but with a catch - he’s now on the hook for tracking down supernatural fugitives. Along the way, Hub has to face the truth about his own past, figure out why his soul got condemned in the first place, and maybe even fight for a second shot at redemption.

The supernatural chaos is just one part of the story, because Hub’s personal life is just as messy. His ex-wife, Maryanne (played by Jennifer Nettles), is a country singer still lingering in his orbit, and his home situation isn’t much better. He lives on a farm with his no-nonsense mother, Kitty (Beth Grant), and their relationship is far from warm and fuzzy. Between demon-hunting and dodging family drama, Hub is stuck trying to balance his past mistakes with his strange new reality.

One of the coolest twists? “The Bondsman” weaves music into the mix. Both Bacon and Nettles - who have real-life music careers - bring original country songs into the show, adding another layer to Hub’s journey. So while he’s wrangling escaped demons and wrestling with his own guilt, music becomes a way for him to process everything. With a mix of dark humor, action, and some eerie horror vibes, the show is shaping up to be a unique blend of supernatural thrills and personal redemption.

Who are the main characters of ‘The Bondsman’?

  • Hub Halloran (Kevin Bacon) – A washed-up bounty hunter who dies and gets an unexpected second chance… thanks to the Devil. Now, he’s back from the dead, hunting down demons while also trying to fix his mess of a life.

  • Maryanne Dice (Jennifer Nettles) – Hub’s ex-wife and a country singer who’s still tangled up in his chaotic world. Their relationship may be over, but their history - and their son - keep them connected.

  • Kitty Halloran (Beth Grant) – Hub’s tough-as-nails mother. She’s got no patience for his antics, and their relationship is as rocky as ever.

  • Lucky Callahan (Damon Herriman) – The smooth-talking owner of a country music club - and Maryanne’s current boyfriend. With Hub back in the picture, things are about to get complicated.

  • Cade Halloran (Maxwell Jenkins) – Hub and Maryanne’s son. He’s caught in the middle of his parents’ messy history, whether he likes it or not.

  • Midge (Jolene Purdy) – A sharp and confident woman who knows how to handle herself, even in a world dominated by men who underestimate her. Midge is described as a secret emissary, meaning she’s playing a bigger game than anyone realizes.

Who is the creator of ‘The Bondsman’?

“The Bondsman” is the brainchild of Grainger David, a writer and filmmaker making his TV debut with this supernatural thriller. Drawing from his Southern roots, David infuses the series with a unique blend of dark humor and eerie storytelling. Teaming up with Erik Oleson, the showrunner and executive producer known for his work on “Arrow,” they’ve crafted a tale where bounty hunting collides with demonic forces. With heavyweights like Jason Blum and Kevin Bacon also on board as executive producers, the series should be a super fun take on the horror genre.
