When does Season 6 of ‘Virgin River’ come out?
Season 6 of “Virgin River” will debut on Thursday, Dec. 19. As with most Netflix series, it will release all episodes of Season 6 at once, instead of spacing them out on a weekly release basis or separating them into two batches of episodes.
What happened in Season 5 of ‘Virgin River’?
Season 5 was perhaps the most drama-filled yet for “Virgin River.” A huge wildfire threatened the town and threw life into chaos for many, and amidst that chaos tragedy struck Mel and Jack when the former suffers a miscarriage, losing the baby she learned she was carrying in Season 4. That tragedy is made all the more poignant when Mel discovers who her true father is but learns he still wants no part of being in her life.
We also learned that the town’s former drug kingpin Calvin is not only still alive after his supposed death in a boat explosion, but he’s the true father of Charmaine’s twins! That’s a fact he knows quite well, and he wants to be involved in the lives of his children.
The season also sees Melissa — a seemingly harmless older lady and sister to Virgin River local Nick, who is actually the town’s newest drug kingpin — kidnap Brady. Mike is shot trying to rescue him, and there are plenty of loose ends to tie up in Season 6 before the residents of Virgin River feel truly safe.
What is Season 6 about?
As billed by Netflix, this season will revolve heavily around the much-anticipated wedding between Jack and Mel. There will be dress shopping, suit try-ons, and more than one last-minute wrench thrown into the mix for our favorite couple’s plans, but they’re hell-bent on tying the knot!
There will likely be more weddings, more babies, and almost certainly more drama ahead for the citizens of the seemingly sleepy town.
Who will star in Season 6 of ‘Virgin River’?
Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson continue to headline the series as Mel and Jack, respectively. Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Mark Ghanimé, Kai Bradbury, and Kandyse McClure also star.
New to the cast this year are Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr, who will play Mel’s parents Sarah and Everett when they meet and fall in love in the 1970s. Everett in the present day will continue to be played by John Allen Nelson, who will turn up in Virgin River with a big secret.
How to stream ‘Virgin River’ Season 6 from anywhere
If you are traveling away from home and find yourself in a region that either doesn’t offer Netflix or where “Virgin River” isn’t available on the streamer, you are in luck. If you can’t wait to watch the soapy fun of “Virgin River” until you get back home, I recommend grabbing a VPN subscription before you leave home. Not only will you get to connect to servers around the world and make it look like that’s where you’re physically located, but VPNs allow you to stream securely without having unwanted observers see your browsing history.

NordVPN is one of the best providers around, at one of the best prices. Currently, you can get two full years of protection for just $3.59 per month — plus you’ll get three extra months FREE. A high-speed VPN with best-in-class security that can be used on up to 10 devices at once — it’s everything even the most discerning customer could want. All you have to do is sign up, install the software on your device of choice, and start streaming just as you would back home. It’s incredibly simple, and it’s available at a great price! You will still need to have a subscription to Netflix to watch “Virgin River” Season 6, but a VPN will allow you to stream just like you were at home on your couch.
While NordVPN is our recommendation for the best VPN to use while you are traveling, there are a number of other high-quality options available depending on what you are looking for.
- Best Bang for Your Buck: PrivadoVPN | Starting at $1.11 per month
- Best for Casual Users: PIA VPN | Starting at $2 per month
- Best Money-Back Guarantee: CyberGhost VPN | Starting at $2 per month.
Will there be a Season 7 of ‘Virgin River’?
Yes! Netflix confirmed in October that “Virgin River” had been renewed for a seventh season. So, if there are any cliffhanger endings to Season 6, rest assured the show will be back to resolve those plotlines.
Can you watch ‘Virgin River’ from anywhere?
Netflix is available in a large number of territories around the world, but if you’re on the go this holiday season and want to ensure you can watch it from anywhere in the world, The Streamable highly recommends a subscription to a VPN. These virtual private networks allow customers to connect to servers all over the world no matter where they’re really located, making it easy to circumvent geo-blocking. You’ll still need a subscription to Netflix to watch “Virgin River,” but a subscription to NordVPN or another such service can help ensure you never lose access when you travel.
