When do the 2024-25 College Football Playoffs start?

The 2024-25 College Football Playoffs begin on Friday, Dec. 20, and continue over the course of the next month, concluding on Monday, Jan. 20 with the national championship game.

What channels will host 2024-25 College Football Playoff games?

ESPN holds the exclusive rights to the 2024-25 College Football Playoff, thanks to a deal agreed to earlier this year which saw the channel lock up those rights until 2032. ESPN will send some of those games to ABC, which means they’ll air simultaneously on ESPN3. No College Football Playoff games are currently slated to appear on ESPN+.

TNT struck an agreement with ESPN to sublicense a small package of games each year, and all of these will stream via the Bleacher Report Sports add-on on Max live as well.

What’s the best way to stream the 2024-25 College Football Playoff?

There are multiple live TV streaming services that will allow you to watch the 2024-25 College Football Playoff. Sling TV is our top choice, even with a price increase to $46 per month coming on Dec. 20. That will increase the price from $40 per month to $46, but viewers will get both ESPN and TNT in the streamer’s Orange package for that rate. All games available on ABC will also be simulcast on ESPN3, so no Sling viewers will miss out.


Hulu + Live TV is also a good choice, since it carries ESPN and TNT in all markets, as well as ABC in the vast majority of areas. Its plans start at $83 per month, and that price also includes free access to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, with much more college sports action available on the latter of these services. Hulu + Live TV also comes with a three-day free trial.


DIRECTV STREAM has a three-day free trial, and it carries ABC, ESPN, and TNT in its base ENTERTAINMENT package for $87 per month. It carries a huge range of other top cable channels and is a very well-balanced option for watching the 2024-25 College Football Playoff.


Fubo carries ABC for most customers, and has ESPN available everywhere. Viewers can grab the streamer’s Essential plan starting at $80 per month, but it’s important to note that Fubo doesn’t have TNT anywhere, so you’ll have to bundle the streamer with a subscription to Max for an additional $10 per month to watch any CFP games there.
