Fubo now pushing RSN packages with no base plan required
Customers can now sign up for packages with select regional sports networks and stream their local NBA, NHL, and MLB teams with Fubo.
Fubo continuously changes the channel packages it offers customers, in an effort to see what viewers will respond to. The company is seemingly always rotating the options available to viewers, and has recently begun advertising a new way to watch regional sports networks (RSNs) without a base package plan for viewers in select markets.
Key Details:
- More than a dozen FanDuel Sports Network RSNs, as well as Rangers Sports Network are available for viewers without a base Fubo plan.
- Pricing for the FanDuel channels is the same as the FanDuel Sports Network direct-to-consumer service.
- Customers can get a $5 per month discount when signing up for a limited time.
We reached out to Fubo to get some more details on the offering of RSNs without the requirement of a base channel package. They confirmed that viewers in more than a dozen markets covered by a FanDuel Sports Network RSN, as well as those in the market of Rangers Sports Network can now sign up for a standalone subscription to those RSNs.
The cost of an RSN-only package in FanDuel markets is the same as a subscription to the FanDuel Sports Network streaming service: $20 per month if you get one FanDuel channel in your market, or $30 per month if you get two. Fubo first launched FanDuel Sports Network as a standalone subscription option last October, but has seemingly made a real effort to advertise the unique plan offerings on its home page since the start of baseball season.
New customers who sign up for Fubo can get a $5 discount for a limited time, dropping the price for an RSN-only package to as low as $15. Fubo customers who get RSNs as part of their base plan have to pay RSN fees of up to $17 per month to receive them, on top of a channel plan that costs at least $85 per month, so the discount is a sneaky good offer.
Fubo has changed up the way it offers RSNs before. In December 2024, the streamer launched its Essential plan, which allowed viewers to get all the channels in the service’s Pro plan, but with no RSNs — and thus no RSN fee. The Essential plan is no longer available to new subscribers, but may return to Fubo’s lineup in the future.
