Fubo Now Offering Subscription Services Without Requiring Base Plan Purchase
FanDuel Sports Network, NBA League Pass and Paramount+ with SHOWTIME are now avaible through Fubo regardless of whether you buy a base channel plan.
Fubo is trying to give prospective customers an easier on-ramp to its cable channel packages. The live TV streaming service announced on Tuesday that it would begin adding standalone subscriptions to its offerings, allowing customers to sign up for streaming video-on-demand (SVOD) services without having to buy into a Fubo base channel package to get them.
Key Details:
- Fubo is launching subscription options for FanDuel Sports Network, NBA League Pass, and Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.
- These subscriptions will be offered in conjunction with Fubo Free, which is expanding its availability.
- The company says more standalone subscriptions are likely to debut in the future.

Starting on Tuesday, cord-cutters are now able to subscribe to one of three premium subscriptions via Fubo without the need to subscribe to one of the sports-focused streamer’s base plans. The three services available at the initiative’s launch are the newly renamed FanDuel Sports Network (formerly Bally Sports+), NBA League Pass, and the sports-rich Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.
FanDuel Sports Network allows viewers to stream games from NBA and NHL teams in their market that play on a FanDuel Sports Network channel. NBA League Pass lets fans stream out-of-market NBA games not appearing on national TV channels, and Paramount+ with SHOWTIME houses Sunday afternoon NFL games every week, along with other sports.
Purchasers of these subscriptions will be able to aggregate the bills for them through Fubo, and will also get access to hundreds of free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels from the Fubo Free tier. Formerly, this tier was only available to viewers who formerly had a paid Fubo plan or a free trial from the service.
“Consumers want flexible streaming options that lets them subscribe to only the content they want to watch,” said David Gandler, co-founder and CEO, Fubo. “Our vision to be a Super Aggregator aims to give consumers a seamless way to access all of the content they love within the Fubo ecosystem and at appropriate price points. With the addition of standalone live and SVOD premium subscriptions, we believe offering multiple bundles, from skinny to fat, will put choice in the hands of our customers. This is what streaming should be.”
FanDuel Sports Networks will still be available in Fubo’s base channel packages, and Paramount+ with SHOWTIME and NBA League Pass will continue to be found in supplemental channel offerings as well. The ability to subscribe without having a base channel package will bring more customers into the Fubo ecosystem, where they may decide they want to get more from the service.
Fubo will continue to expand the roster of on-demand streaming services that it offers standalone subscriptions to. In addition, the streamer says it is exploring options like pay-per-view events, transactional video-on-demand (TVOD) possibilities and more.
