Fubo subscribers now get access to ESPN+
On Wednesday, Fubo announced that all English-language plans with ESPN would grant their subscribers access to ESPN+.
It’s Fubo’s turn to get in on Disney’s dominance of the Wednesday news cycle. News has been flying fast and furious regarding Disney’s next streaming moves, with the launch date of the new ESPN streaming service and the deal between the NFL and ESPN regarding NFL Media properties announced. There’s one more piece of good news handed down from Disney on Wednesday: Fubo customers can now sign up for ESPN+ subscriptions at no extra cost.
Key Details:
- Free is the right price: Customers of Fubo plans with ESPN get ESPN+ at no extra charge.
- Getting cozier: Fubo is set to merge with Hulu + Live TV, and this could be the first step in the process.
- Get a good deal: New customers can sign up for Fubo and save $30 off their first month of service.
As of Wednesday, Fubo subscribers on any English-language base plan or legacy plan that includes ESPN’s linear channel can sign onto ESPN+ at no additional charge. Viewers can watch ESPN+ content when logging into the ESPN app, or via ESPN+’s website using their Fubo login credentials.
This isn’t the only expansion to sports content that Fubo viewers got on Wednesday. ESPN announced the launch date of its new streaming service as Aug. 21, and on that date, Fubo subscribers who already get ESPN channels will be able to log into the ESPN app and use all the new features of the new ESPN streamer at no additional cost.
The addition of free ESPN+ content for Fubo is just the first step in a more meaningful integration of Fubo with Disney-owned streaming products. Fubo is preparing to merge with Hulu + Live TV, a transaction that will see Fubo come under the majority control of Disney while retaining much of its executive staff.
ESPN+ is also available free of charge to Spectrum TV customers on certain plans, as well as to subscribers of the DIRECT MySports Genre Pack.
Previously, Fubo customers who wanted to watch ESPN+ content had to spend an extra $12 per month to get it; now, the streamer’s content is available for free. There’s another way to save for customers who haven’t signed up for Fubo yet; the streamer is offering new customers $30 off their first month of service on the Pro or Elite plans, or $8 off the Latino plan for a limited time.
