On Wednesday, the official social media accounts for “The Great British Bakeoff” announced that the beloved competition show will return to the U.K.’s Channel 4 on Tuesday, Sept. 24. However, due to its exclusive licensing deal with Netflix, it won’t stream in the United States right away. So when will American dessert connoisseurs be able to stream the heartwarming show?

First off, not to get pedantic, but you can’t really watch “The Great British Bakeoff” in the U.S. without the assistance of a VPN because Pillsbury owns the trademark for the term “bakeoff” So, for the Netflix versions of the series, it is rebranded as “The Great British Baking Show.” Nonetheless, in years past, Netflix has aired episodes of the series on the Friday following their Channel 4 premiere. If that tradition holds, then American fans of all things meringue, biscuit, and pâtisserie will be able to catch the 15th season (or series, if you are British) premiere on Friday, Sept. 27.
The Streamable has reached out to Netflix for confirmation of the show’s release schedule but has not yet heard back as of the publication of this article.
