Do you get DVR with Sling TV Passes?
Sling TV’s Passes let you sign up for the service for as little as one day for just $5, but can you DVR any titles while watching?
You have to hand it to Sling TV: the service is always thinking of new ways to provide audiences with access to top cable channels. In its latest efforts to lower the barriers between viewers and premier networks like ESPN, Sling TV has launched new Passes, which allow customers to sign up for one day, a weekend, or a week of Sling TV’s Orange service.
One of Sling’s most important features is the free Cloud DVR that comes with every subscription. Does that feature carry over to Sling TV’s Passes, though? We’ll give you more details on how to use DVR with your Sling TV Day, Weekend, or Weekly Pass right here.
Everything you need to know about using DVR with Sling TV Passes?
Do Sling TV Passes come with DVR?
Sling TV’s monthly plans come with a free 50 hours of Cloud DVR storage. Every monthly subscription gets this feature with Sling TV, and customers can also pay $5 per month extra to get the DVR Plus add-on and upgrade to unlimited DVR if 50 hours just isn’t quite enough storage for your needs.
Sling TV Pass Day, Weekend, and Week Pass subscribers can also use the DVR feature included for monthly subscribers. They get 50 hours of recording space as well, though recordings will disappear from the recordings library once their subscription term has ended.
How to use Sling TV DVR with Passes
If you’ve ever used Sling TV before, you likely already know how to use its DVR feature. The procedure for using it with a Sling TV Pass isn’t any different than using it with monthly subscriptions.
First, start playing the channel you want to record programming from. Pull up the playback controls, and then locate the record button, which is found between the catch-up to live button and the volume control. Click the button, and you’ll be all set to record the show or movie you want.
Once you’ve recorded the title you want to watch, all you have to do is locate the DVR tab at the top of the Sling TV user interface, and you’ll be able to see your recorded programs, as well as find out how much recording space you have left to work with.
Once you’ve watched your recorded titles, you can set the series in question to record all future episodes or delete recordings to free up space. It’s your 50 hours of DVR, use it your way!
Do recorded titles disappear from Sling TV when the Pass expires?
You will no longer be able to access recorded titles on Sling TV once your Pass subscription term expires. However, resubscribing to Sling TV’s monthly plans will allow you to watch those recorded titles again — as long as it hasn’t been more than 90 days since you first recorded them. Sling TV’s DVR feature automatically deletes recorded shows and movies after that time.
