Will you be locked out of AMC+ immediately once you cancel?
Not right away. If you cancel your AMC+ subscription in the middle of a billing cycle, you will maintain access to that account until your billing cycle ends. Once it does, you will find yourself no longer able to log into AMC+ or watch its titles.
Will AMC+ save your settings after you cancel a subscription?
AMC+ may save your data for a limited time after cancelling your account. However, no streaming service preserves a customer’s viewing history or account settings permanently, so there’s no guarantee the streamer will remember you if you resubscribe after cancelling.
Can you pause an AMC+ subscription?
No, AMC+ does not offer any pause option. If you want to stop being billed for AMC+, you will have to cancel.
What alternatives to AMC+ should you try after cancelling?
Netflix
Netflix is a great way to replace AMC+, not least because you’ll find many of the same AMC+ favorites in the Netflix catalog. In July 2026, AMC signed a mega-licensing deal with Netflix that will bring new titles from The Walking Dead franchise to the service, and Netflix is a frequent host of other AMC titles, as well. An ad-supported Netflix subscription starts at just $9 per month, just $1 more than AMC+, and customers will get access to thousands more shows and movies, plus some live sports and other events for that extra buck.
Netflix
Netflix is a leading subscription-based video streaming service that offers on-demand access to an extensive library of over 3,000 movies, 2,000+ TV shows, and a growing collection of acclaimed Netflix originals. Renowned for producing groundbreaking content, Netflix has become a cultural powerhouse with hit originals like “Stranger Things,” “Wednesday,” “Squid Game,” “The Crown,” “Tiger King,” “Bridgerton,” “The Witcher,” and “Black Mirror.”
HBO Max
If you’re willing to spend a little more after leaving AMC+, an HBO Max subscription is a great alternative. Like AMC+, HBO Max has a ton of high-concept, prestige TV titles to choose from, including decades’ worth of favorites from HBO. Movie lovers who are defecting from AMC+ will love the availability of Turner Classic Movies and Criterion Collection titles on HBO Max, as well. The price of $11 per month for HBO Max with ads is higher than AMC+’s starting price, but viewers will likely find the return in content well worth it.
HBO Max
HBO Max is a subscription video streaming service that gives access to the full HBO library and exclusive Max Originals. There are hubs for content from TLC, HGTV, Food Network, Discovery, TCM, Cartoon Network, Travel Channel, ID, and more. Watch hit series like “The Last of Us,” “House of the Dragon,” “Succession,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and more. Within HBO Max, B/R Sports allows users to watch live NBA, MLB, NHL, March Madness, and NASCAR events.
