Need to change your account settings on Prime Video?
We’ll help you get your email address and password changed on Prime Video, switch your payment method, and more.
Prime Video is a bit of an odd duck, as far as on-demand streaming services. It’s a streamer in its own right, and you can subscribe to it without having to pay for any other Amazon products or services. But it’s also deeply embedded in the Amazon Prime package as well, and customers get the choice of how to access the streamer if they want to.
With those extra layers could come additional complications, however. Specifically, Prime Video fans may not know how to wade through the various menus and tabs on the Amazon website to get to the settings that apply only to the streaming service. We’ll help you do just that in our handy guide below!
Everything you need to know about changing account settings on Prime Video
How to change the login credentials associated with your Prime Video account
This depends on how you subscribe to Prime Video in the first place. If you have Prime Video outside of the larger Prime subscription, you can find your login credential settings in the settings menu of that streamer once you log in. If you have a Prime subscription, however, you will have to change the email and password for the entire account to change your login credentials for Prime Video. To do so:
- Click here to log into Amazon on a web browser.
- Hover over the Accounts & Lists button in the top-right of the screen.
- Click Account, then Login & Security.
- Locate your username and password, then click Edit to change them.
How to change payment details on Prime Video
The good news is, you edit the payment details you use to make purchases with Prime Video through the streamer’s own settings. To do this:
- Click here to go to the Prime Video website.
- Find the account icon in the top-right corner, and click Accounts & Settings in the menu.
- In the Your account tab, scroll down to Payment settings and click Change.
You can also manage your Prime account settings, choose to pay extra to cut out ads on your Prime Video streams, and edit payment settings associated with recurring charges and one-time payments from this screen as well.
Prime Video lets you use multiple payment methods for different types of purchases. Click to expand.
