New comedy ‘Adults’ takes on the struggle of growing up
The first two episodes premiere Wednesday, May 28 on FX, with the full season streaming the next day.
Trying to be a good person in your twenties is hard — especially when you’re still figuring out what “adulting” even means. That’s the setup for FX’s new comedy “Adults,” a sharp, slightly surreal series about five friends living under one roof in New York and doing their best to act like grown-ups (while failing, hilariously, at every turn). Whether it’s dating disasters, dinner party meltdowns, or healthcare system nightmares, nothing about their lives is simple — and their attempts to figure it out usually make things worse. The first two episodes premiere Wednesday, May 28 at 9 p.m. ET on FX, which you can watch with a five-day free trial to DIRECTV.

About ‘Adults’
“Adults” is an ensemble comedy about five twenty-somethings trying (and mostly failing) to get their lives together while living under one roof in Brooklyn. From awkward crushes to dinner party meltdowns to battles with the healthcare system, nothing goes smoothly — and their good intentions usually make things worse. The main cast includes Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao, and Owen Thiele, with guest appearances from Charlie Cox, Julia Fox, and more. The series is created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, and executive produced by Nick Kroll, known for co-creating “Big Mouth” and starring in “The League.” It’s a messy, funny, slightly surreal look at what it really means to grow up.
