Friday, Feb. 7, 1964 will go down as one of the most important dates in popular music history as The Beatles arrived in New York City to an unprecedented level of excitement and hysteria. From the instant they touched down in New York, they were bombarded by thousands of fans as Beatlemania swept the entire country. Their first trip to America was immortalized on their now-legendary performance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” which drew more than 73 million viewers.
