What to know about ‘Dope Thief’
“Dope Thief” is executive produced by Ridley Scott, and stars Brian Tyree Henry, Wagner Moura, Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Nesta Cooper, Amir Arison, and Golden Globe winner Ving Rhames. Based on the book of the same name by Dennis Tafoya, it centers on a pair of best friends who decide to rob an unknown house by posing as a pair of DEA agents.
Instead of a relatively small-time operation, the theft becomes a life-and-death struggle for survival. The pair unwittingly dives headfirst into the biggest hidden narcotics smuggling operation on the east coast, and immediately have some of the most hardened criminals in the world hot on their trail. Forget making money, they might not make it out of this thing alive.
