Apple TV+ takes romance to the (fake) stars with ‘Fly Me to the Moon’
Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum star in this romantic comedy set during the Apollo 11 mission.
Romance among the (fake) stars. That’s what Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum are looking for in the new Apple TV+ original film “Fly Me to the Moon,” which tells the story of NASA’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing. Sparks fly in all directions as marketing maven Kelly Jones (Johansson), brought in to fix NASA’s public image, wreaks havoc on launch director Cole Davis’ (Tatum) already difficult task. And when the White House deems the mission too important to fail, Jones is directed to stage a fake moon landing as backup as the countdown begins. You can stream the movie on Friday, Dec. 6 with a subscription to Apple TV+.

About ‘Fly Me to the Moon’
“Fly Me to the Moon” is a romantic comedy set against the backdrop of NASA’s historic Apollo 11 mission. The film stars Scarlett Johansson as Kelly Jones, a marketing expert tasked with revitalizing NASA’s crumbling public image, and Channing Tatum as Cole Davis, the mission’s launch director. Their professional collaboration gets (you guessed it) complicated when the White House, deeming the mission too critical to fail, instructs Jones to prepare a fail-safe contingency plan involving a fake moon landing. Directed by Greg Berlanti (“Love, Simon”) the film finds real romance on the set of a fake moon. “Fly Me to the Moon” was released in theaters in July and carries a 90% Rotten Tomatoes popcorn (audience) score.
