New Harlan Coben thriller ‘Lazarus’ hits Prime Video
Family secrets, cold cases, and haunting visions collide in Coben’s newest drama.
If you love twisty, psychological thrillers, you’ll want to put Harlan Coben’s “Lazarus” at the top of your list. The series comes from New York Times best-selling author Harlan Coben and BAFTA-winner Danny Brocklehurst (the same duo behind hits like “Fool Me Once” and “Stay Close”) and it’s got that same mix of mystery, family secrets, and slow-burn suspense. Sam Claflin stars as Joel Lazarus, a man pulled back to his hometown after his father’s death, only to find himself haunted by old traumas and tangled in a web of unsolved murders. All six episodes drop Wednesday, Oct. 22 on Prime Video.

What is Harlan Coben’s ‘Lazarus’ about?
Harlan Coben’s “Lazarus” follows Joel Lazarus (Sam Claflin), who returns home after his father, Dr. Jonathan Lazarus (Bill Nighy), dies by suicide. Once he’s back, Joel starts to experience strange and terrifying visions that make him question what’s real. As he digs deeper, he discovers links between his father’s death and a series of cold-case murders, along with the unsolved killing of his sister 25 years earlier.
The series also stars Alexandra Roach as Joel’s sister Jenna, David Fynn as Seth McGovern, Karla Crome as Bella Catton, and Kate Ashfield as Detective Alison Brown. Directed by Wayne Che Yip (“The Rings of Power”) and written by Harlan Coben and Danny Brocklehurst, expect a mix of grief, guilt, and buried secrets. It’s the kind of story Coben fans love, but darker and stranger than anything he’s done before.
What other thriller TV shows can you watch on Prime Video?
If Harlan Coben’s “Lazarus” gets you hooked on mysteries that twist reality and keep you guessing, Prime Video has plenty more where that came from. Start with “Harlan Coben’s Shelter,” which follows a teenager whose new life in New Jersey takes a dark turn when a classmate disappears and what he uncovers connects to a decades-old conspiracy. Then check out “The Girlfriend,” a gripping domestic thriller about Laura, who seems to have the perfect life until her son brings home a girlfriend named Cherry who changes everything. And if you want something a little more action-heavy, “Reacher” is the classic tough-guy thriller done right. Alan Ritchson stars as Jack Reacher, a former military investigator who roams the country solving crimes and crushing bad guys with brutal efficiency.
