Or so it seems. The new film, “Holland,” kicks off in a picture-perfect Michigan town full of tulips, tidy homes, and a seemingly normal family… until Kidman’s character starts digging into a secret that flips everything upside down. Matthew Macfadyen plays her husband (and might not be who he says he is), while Gael García Bernal and Jude Hill round out a cast that gets pulled into a web of lies and surprises. The movie had its world premiere at SXSW and now it’s heading straight to Prime Video on Thursday, March 27.

About ‘Holland’

“Holland” is one of those thrillers where everything looks calm on the surface — until it’s very much not. Nicole Kidman plays Nancy, a seemingly perfect mom and teacher living an idyllic life in a tulip-filled Michigan town (this already sounds like a classic Kidman role). But when she and a coworker (Gael García Bernal) start digging into a strange secret, the whole picture cracks wide open. Her husband, played by Matthew Macfadyen, might not be who she thinks he is, and nothing in Nancy’s world is as safe or simple as it seemed. Directed by Mimi Cave (“Fresh”) and written by Andrew Sodroski, the movie leans into suspense, sharp twists, and that creeping feeling that something’s just… off. If you’re into stories where the mystery slowly unravels and keeps you guessing, this one’s got your name on it.
