When does ‘Lilo & Stitch’ premiere?
“Lilo & Stitch” becomes available to stream on Disney+ starting at 3:01 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Sept. 3. When the film was released in theaters back in May, I predicted that we would be able to stream it on Disney+ starting on Thursday, Aug. 29, so I was six days off.
Why do we recommend watching ‘Lilo & Stitch’ on Disney+?
“Lilo & Stitch” is the live-action adaptation of the 2002 animated movie of the same name. As with most other Disney properties, especially new releases, the movie will stream exclusively on Disney+ for the foreseeable future. Barring a groundbreaking licensing deal with another streamer, I wouldn’t expect “Lilo & Stitch” to move off Disney+ or appear anywhere else to stream with a subscription for a very long time.
But you can also stream the first movie on Disney+, as well as other titles in the franchise like “Lilo & Stitch: The Series,” “Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch.” Disney+ has a wide range of subscription options, especially if you decide to bundle it with other Disney-owned streaming services like Hulu and ESPN.
Disney+
Disney+ is a video streaming service with over 13,000 series and films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, The Muppets, and more. It is available in 61 countries and 21 languages. It is notable for its popular original series like “The Mandalorian,” “Ms. Marvel,” “Loki,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” and “Andor.”
Can you watch ‘Lilo & Stitch’ for free?
Disney+ does not currently offer any kind of free trial to new or existing customers. You can get the streamer by itself starting at $10 per month for its ad plan, or you can add a Hulu subscription starting at just $1 per month. Viewers can also bundle Disney+ with the new ESPN direct-to-consumer service, with discounts of 40% or more available.

About ‘Lilo & Stitch’
Experiment 626 is a genetically engineered destruction machine. It’s not his fault that chaos is packed into a small, fluffy, cute little package! Created by a mad scientist, 626 takes advantage of his instincts for creating havoc and escapes from custody, stealing an alien police cruiser and making his way across the galaxy to Earth.
A violent crash-landing sees Experiment 626 wind up in an animal shelter, where he meets a girl named Lilo Pelekai. She desperately needs a friend, but when she brings Stitch home, she instantly gets much more than the pet dog she thought she was adopting. What follows is a heartwarming, chaotic, and tear-jerking tale about family with lessons that will resonate with all.
