Max Verstappen is one of the most successful Formula 1 drivers in the world,p but can he beat normal people in a go-kart race if they have a head start? Taking place at Silverstone Circuit, home of the British Grand Prix, 101 karts will line up on the grid for one of the biggest go-kart races the world has ever seen. “Max vs. 100” will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 1 p.m. ET and it will air live on Disney+ and ESPN Unlimited. Why stream ‘Max vs. 100’ on Disney+?
If you already have a live TV streaming service, watching “Max vs. 100” on ESPN2 might be the easiest way to go. However, you will have to wait until coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET. For that reason, we recommend going with Disney+. It will be the cheapest way to watch the race if you don’t already have a subscription. Disney+’s Basic tier costs $12 per month, so that will be the least expensive option.
You can also watch on ESPN Unlimited, but if you don’t already have a subscription, then it will cost $32 per month. However, DIRECTV, Fubo, and YouTube TV offer complementary subscriptions to the ESPN streamer. So, if you are already subscribed to either of those streamers, you can watch the race live at no extra cost.
Disney+
Disney+ is a video streaming service with over 13,000 series and films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, The Muppets, and more. It is available in 61 countries and 21 languages. It is notable for its popular original series like “The Mandalorian,” “Ms. Marvel,” “Loki,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” and “Andor.”
Can you watch ‘Max vs. 100’ for free once it starts streaming?
Technically, no… but also yes. As I mentioned above, neither Disney+ nor ESPN Unlimited offer free trials, but since both streamers are included at no extra cost as part of various live TV streaming plans, if you pick one with a free trial, you can watch Verstappen race 100 amateurs without having to pay a penny.
DIRECTV would be the best option in our expert estimation, because it has multiple plans that come with access to a streamer that will carry “Max vs. 100” live — either on Disney+ or ESPN Unlimited — and it has the longest guaranteed free trial in the industry at five days.
Since Fubo is now owned by Disney, ESPN Unlimited is included with a subscription at no extra cost. However, it is difficult to pin down the length of a Fubo subscription. Generally, it can range from one to seven days, but there’s no telling what you will get until you get ready to check out.
You can also go with YouTube TV, as any plan that includes the ESPN linear channel also comes with ESPN Unlimited, but it is more difficult to pin down how long the trial lasts. It can be as short as two days or as long as 21, depending on a variety of opaque variables. However, for the chance to get three weeks at no cost, it is likely worth going through the signup process to find out what they will offer you.
ESPN Unlimited
ESPN launched its highly anticipated direct-to-consumer streaming service on August 21, 2025. For the first time, this service gives sports fans access to its full lineup of linear channels without a traditional cable or satellite subscription.

What you need to know about ‘Max vs. 100’?
Hosted by Mo Gilligan, a British TV show host and comedian, “Max vs. 100” will feature four-time Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen starting in 101st place behind a field of 100 amateur racers in one of the largest go-kart races of all-time. When he passes a driver, that driver is eliminated. Verstappen must catch and pass every single kart within 30 laps to win. The 100 competitors include content creators, extreme athletes, and grassroots racers. In addition to the raw racing element of the event, all of the drivers, including Verstappen, will be mic’d up in order to talk trash live on the track.
The 100 competitors facing off against Verstappen will feature athletes, content creators, and special guests. Some of the featured participants are Red Bull athletes like ultrarunner Arda Saatçi, basketball shooting phenomenon Chris “Lethal Shooter” Matthews, and freestyle mountain biker Matt Jones, along with Red Bull streamers TheGrefg, Caedrel, and TheDonato.
