Prime Video’s ‘Off Campus’ is bringing college hockey romance to streaming
Based on a hugely popular book series, the show sets up a rotating romance format with a deep ensemble cast.
I’m genuinely excited about this one. I grew up playing hockey, and I still lace them up every week for beer league. So there has always been something about hockey stories that hit me differently. Add in romance, college chaos, and a built-in ensemble, and yeah, I’m in. Prime Video’s upcoming series “Off Campus” looks like it’s leaning fully into that sweet spot, mixing elite college hockey with relationships, big feelings, and the kind of friendships you only form during that in-between stage of life. “Off Campus” is set to arrive on streaming on Wednesday, May 13. Here’s everything you need to know.

What is ‘Off Campus’ about?
“Off Campus” is based on Elle Kennedy’s best-selling five-book romance series and centers on an elite college hockey team at Briar University and the women who change their lives. The show plays like a hockey version of “Bridgerton,” with each season set up to spotlight a different couple from the larger friend group.
Season 1 kicks things off with an opposites-attract romance between Hannah Wells, a quiet and guarded songwriter, and Garrett Graham, Briar’s all-star hockey player who’s used to winning on and off the ice. They come from totally different worlds, and that’s kind of the point. As they’re pulled together, the story digs into friendship, vulnerability, pressure, and that weird moment in early adulthood where everything feels like it matters way more than you expected. There’s hockey, sure, but the real focus is on connection, growth, and figuring out who you are when life starts getting real.

Who stars in ‘Off Campus’?
The series stars Ella Bright as Hannah Wells and Belmont Cameli as Garrett Graham, the central couple for Season 1. Josh Heuston plays Justin, Hannah’s longtime crush and a college rock band singer, setting up a classic romantic complication right out of the gate.
The larger ensemble includes Antonio Cipriano as Logan, Stephen Kalyn as Dean Di Laurentis, Jalen Thomas Brooks as Tucker, and Mika Abdalla as Allie Hayes, all of whom are set up to take center stage in future seasons based on the books. Khobe Clarke appears as Beau Maxwell, Briar’s star quarterback and part of the wider social orbit around the hockey team. Steve Howey plays Phil Graham, Garrett’s father and a former hockey legend whose presence looms large in his son’s life. A long list of recurring cast members has also been added, which is a solid sign that Prime Video plans to fully invest in this world.
Who is making ‘Off Campus’?
“Off Campus” is created by Louisa Levy, who serves as co-showrunner alongside Gina Fattore. Both also executive produce the series with Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen from Temple Hill, plus James Seidman, Leanna Billings, Neal Flaherty, and Silver Tree. Elle Kennedy is involved as a producer as well, which is always reassuring for fans of the books.
