A cult leader believes sacrificing three people to a volcano is the only way to prevent the end of the world.

Why watch ‘Sacrifice’ on Netflix?
Pretty simply, we recommend watching “Sacrifice” on Netflix because it is the only way that you’ll be able to watch it. “Sacrifice” is landing exclusively on Netflix here in the U.S., so you’ll need a subscription to watch. I have the $9 per month plan with ads, but if you’d rather skip commercials, the ad-free plan costs $20 per month, while the Premium plan with 4K and HDR will cost you $27 per month.
Can you watch ‘Sacrifice’ for free?
Nope. Netflix doesn’t offer a free trial in the U.S. right now, so you can’t watch “Sacrifice” for free. The cheapest option is the $9 per month plan with ads. You can always subscribe, watch the movie, poke around the rest of the library, and then cancel before your next billing date if you’re not enjoying the platform.

What is ‘Sacrifice’ about?
“Sacrifice” follows Mike Tyler (Chris Evans), a struggling movie star hoping to make a comeback. He attends a fancy environmental charity gala hosted by billionaire Ben Bracken (Vincent Cassel) and his wife Gloria (Salma Hayek), but things pretty much go off the rails when a cult leader, Joan (Anya Taylor-Joy), and her followers charge the gala and start taking hostages. Why? Because she believes that unless they sacrifice three people in the volcano nearby, the world is going to end.
Director Gavras wrote the film with Will Arbery, who wrote on “Succession,” and they pulled themes from Joan of Arc and Greek mythology to find their way to “Sacrifice.” They even filmed parts of the movie at Nea Kameni, a real active volcano on Santorini, Greece. Cool!
Sacrifice
During a star-studded charity gala brimming with celebrities, billionaires, and empty speeches, a movie star in the midst of an existential crisis is taken hostage by a radical warrior and her devoted followers. As the night descends into chaos, both an inward journey and an outward adventure ensue, where the line between performance and belief, salvation and sacrifice, begins to blur.
