Why we recommend watching ‘Slow Horses’ Season 5 on Apple TV+?
Quite frankly, we recommend Apple TV+, because it’s the only place you can stream the show. “Slow Horses” is an Apple Original, so if you want to catch all of the shenanigans at Slough House (and you absolutely should), you will have to sign up for an Apple TV+ subscription through the end of October.
Can you watch the ‘Slow Horses’ Season 5 for free?
Yes and no. Apple TV+ does offer a free trial, but it is only seven days long. So, while you will be able to catch the Season 5 premiere of “Slow Horses” (and even the first two episodes, if you time it correctly), you won’t be able to stream the full season as it airs. However, if you are comfortable waiting until late October, you can then binge all of the episodes over the course of one week without any problem.
However, there are other ways that you can get longer trials. If you purchase some sort of new Apple device, like an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you can receive up to three months free of the streaming service.
Outside of the trials, a monthly subscription to Apple TV+ costs $13. The service is completely ad-free, aside from promoting its own titles.
Apple TV
Apple TV (formerly known as Apple TV+) is a subscription video streaming service for $14.99 per month, offering a growing slate of original series, films, documentaries, and specials. Unlike other platforms that combine licensed titles with originals, Apple TV is built entirely around exclusive programming, making it the home of critically acclaimed hits such as “Ted Lasso,” “Severance,” “The Morning Show,” and “Silo.” Its lineup continues to expand with award-winning dramas, comedies, family-friendly shows, and blockbuster original films like “CODA,” which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

What is ‘Slow Horses’ Season 5 about?
As all are seasons of “Slow Horses,” the fifth installment is based on one of Mick Herron’s beloved spy novels. This season, the action comes from the “London Rules” novel that gets started as the denizens of Slough House become suspicious when skeezy tech nerd Roddy Ho somehow lands a glamorous new girlfriend. From there, a series of increasingly bizarre events occurs across London, and the Slow Horses must work together to figure out how everything is connected and what they must do to foil the plot.
The series is led by Oscar-winning Gary Oldman as Slough House’s slovenly and flatulent agent in charge, Jackson Lamb. While Lamb runs his forgotten outpost as he sees fit, he technically answers to MI5 Second Chair Diana Taverner, played by Academy Award nominee Kristin Scott Thomas.
The overlooked agents of Slough House are played by Emmy Award nominee Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, and Tom Brooke. Their MI5 counterparts, who often get in the way, are played by Ruth Bradley and James Callis. Also in the cast is Tony winner and Academy Award nominee Jonathan Pryce, and joining the show as a special guest star in Season 5 is “Ted Lasso” star Nick Mohammed.
