Snowpiercer circles once more. Set nine months after the Season 3 finale that left Earth’s surviving population split up into two groups — those who stay aboard Snowpiercer for relative safety and those who adventure to the unknown world of New Eden on Big Alice — the AMC post-apocalyptic thriller series will conclude this summer with both halves encountering unforeseen enemies, unknown adversaries, and uncertain times as they find their ways forward. The fourth and final season of “Snowpiercer” will premiere on Sunday, July 21 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC and AMC+. You can watch with 7-Day Free Trial of Philo.

About “Snowpiercer”
“Snowpiercer,” which touches on themes of class warfare, social injustice, and the politics of survival, has its roots in the French climate fiction graphic novel “Le Transperceneige” by Jacques Lob, which was adapted by Oscar-winning director Bong Joon-ho (“Parasite”) in his 2013 English-language debut.
Set in 2026, the series begins seven years after the Earth has become a frozen wasteland and follows the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a perpetually moving train of 1,001 cars that circles the globe, providing the passengers the energy they need to survive the freezing temperatures. Since the ecocide, the population “has become rigidly separated by class, caught up in a revolutionary struggle against the strictly imposed social hierarchy and unbalanced allocation of limited resources.” The Season 3 finale left the group split into two, with Head of Hospitality Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) leading the Eternal Engine and those passengers who chose to stay aboard Snowpiercer for relative safety, and Andre (Daveed Diggs) leading the others on Big Alice choosing to adventure to the unknown, outside world of New Eden.
Season 4 will take place nine months after Snowpiercer and Big Alice part ways, where, per the official description, Till (Mickey Sumner) and Ben (Iddo Goldberg) encounter unforeseen enemies when Melanie sends them off the train on a reconnaissance mission” and “the residents of New Eden face uncertain times and unknown adversaries, compelling them to further confront the complexities of their new reality.”
“Snowpiercer” also stars Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard, Alison Wright, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Sam Otto, Chelsea Harris, Mike O’Malley, Roberto Urbina, and Sheila Vand. Joining the cast for the final season are Clark Gregg and Michael Aronov.
The four-season series had a tumultuous run, initially premiering on TNT in May 2020 before announcing it would move to TBS (a decision that was reversed). In June 2022, TNT announced the series’ fourth season would be its last, but the network eventually announced in January 2023 that it would no longer be airing and was in the process of being shopped to other platforms. It wasn’t until this past March that AMC had announced it had picked up Season 4.
