What is the format of ‘Star Search’?
“Star Search” sees performers grouped into categories, such as musicians, dancers, comedians, and kids’ acts, and asks selected contestants in each category to compete against each other. Acts are judged by a panel, with each judge awarding a score of one to four stars. The winner moves on to compete again against other contestants in their category until only a champion is left standing. The biggest major change to Netflix’s version of the show appears to be the live audience voting aspect; in other ways, the reboot looks to be quite faithful to the original.
