What is ‘Steal’ about?
“Steal” starts off in the most boring place imaginable, a pension-fund office where Zara, played by Sophie Turner, is just trying to get through another normal workday with her coworker and friend Luke. Then everything blows up. Armed thieves storm the building, take people hostage, and suddenly, Zara and Luke are being forced to help pull off a robbery that feels wrong almost immediately. And the more it unfolds, the clearer it becomes that this isn’t a simple cash grab.
They’re going after people’s pensions, which makes the whole thing feel way more personal. Outside the building, Detective Chief Inspector Rhys, played by Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, starts pulling at the thread, and the deeper he digs, the more obvious it is that this crime was planned for a reason and nothing about it is as straightforward as it first looks.
