About ‘Blitz’
“Blitz” is a World War II feature drama directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen, best known for “12 Years a Slave,” which won the Oscar for Best Picture in 2014, along with films “Hunger,” and “Widows.” “Blitz” follows nine-year-old George, who is evacuated from London to the countryside for safety during the war. Determined to reunite with his family, George heads out on a perilous journey back to East London.
His mother, Rita, played by two-time Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan (“Lady Bird,” “Little Women”), leads her own search to find her son in a city under siege. The ensemble cast includes Harris Dickinson, Benjamin Clementine, and musician Paul Weller. You can watch “Blitz” exclusively on Apple TV+ when it debuts on Friday, Nov. 22.
