Everything you need to know about Super Bowl LIX

About Super Bowl LIX

The AFC’s representative in Super Bowl LIX is the Kansas City Chiefs, who would become the first NFL team ever to win three Lombardi Trophies in a row if they claim the championship this year. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense have made consistency their watchword this year; explosive plays have been fewer and further between for the team than in year’s past, but they still compiled a 15-2 regular season record. Andy Reid has them playing well, and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has been cooking with players like Chris Jones, Trent McDuffie, and George Karlaftis all season.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is hoping to lead his team to redemption after losing to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown are back, but the Eagles offense has a new face that could power them to victory: running back Saquon Barkley, who joined the team in free agency and had an MVP-caliber season. The Eagles defense has been stifling all year, as Vic Fangio has assembled players like Jalen Carter, Zack Baun, Quinyon Mitchell, and Cooper DeJean playing like they’ve been together for years.
