What is ‘The Love Hypothesis’ about?

“The Love Hypothesis” centers on a brilliant Ph.D. candidate named Olive, who is laser-focused on her future — mostly. She’s got a crush on a guy named Jeremy, but when she realizes that her best friend Ahn has fallen head-over-heels for him, she plants a kiss on the closest guy she can find — intimidating professor Adam Carlsen.

Desperate to maintain the charade for the sake of her friendship, Olive sets up a series of fake relationship rules and boundaries with Adam, who goes along with the masquerade for his own reasons. But when the lines of performance and reality begin to blur, Olive has to confront that true love might just be worth taking a risk for.
