Heat up your holidays with Chad Michael Murray in ‘The Merry Gentlemen’

This steamy holiday rom-com purposely subverts a lot of the genre’s most recognizable tropes.

Depending on where you are in the country, the next few months could get pretty cold. Fortunately, Netflix has the perfect movie to heat up your holiday season as the original Christmas movie “The Merry Gentlemen” is available to stream starting on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The film stars Chad Michael Murray and Britt Robertson and involves a Broadway dancer who stages an all-male, Christmas revue to save her hometown performing arts venue. Anticipation for this one has been high since the movie’s very steamy trailer was released early this fall. Don’t miss a single second of the action with a subscription to Netflix.

About ‘The Merry Gentlemen’

When a former Broadway dancer (played by Robertson) learns that her parents’ small-town performance venue is in danger of shutting down, she does the only logical thing… she directs and choreographs an all-male revue starring the hottest guys she can find.

This leads to numerous chiseled, shirtless men shaking what Santa gave them for a good cause. What could get you into the holiday spirit more than that? Joining Murray in the gyrating are Hector David Jr., Colt Prattes, and Marc Anthony Samuel.

The steamy entry into the world of holiday-themed rom-coms was written by Marla Sokoloff, who also appears in the film, and directed by Peter Sullivan. As this type of Christmas fare has become increasingly popular thanks to Hallmark, Great American Family, and Netflix, this new movie takes the familiar tropes of the genre and lovingly subverts them one hip swivel at a time.

Also appearing in the film are “Family Ties” dad Michael Gross, “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” aunt Beth Broderick, “Grease 2” icon Maxwell Caulfield, and more.
