The new cooking competition will put 12 chefs through a series of tests of their culinary skills and encourage character growth.
The pressure cooker environment of a professional kitchen is famous for either housing or creating some often-too-hot-to-handle personalities (see: any Gordon Ramsey show). But lifestyle mogul Martha Stewart and humanitarian chef José Andrés are planning to (lovingly) break some egos with the new NBC cooking competition series “Yes, Chef!” Through humor, tough love, and tests of both skill and resolve, 12 chef nominees will compete in a culinary trial that will help temper their tempers and soften their sharp edges. The new series will premiere Monday, April 28 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and will be available to stream the following day on Peacock.

What you need to know about ‘Yes, Chef!’
From Magical Elves, the Emmy Award-winning producers of “Top Chef,” “Yes, Chef!” is a new cooking competition series that puts 12 highly skilled but rebellious chefs nominated by their bosses, co-workers, friends, or family, through the ultimate test of challenges.
Guided by hosts José Andrés and Martha Stewart, the chefs each week will go through a series of intense challenges designed to test their culinary skills, leadership skills, and personal problems, forcing the chefs to grow from the pressure. José and Martha will select the winning team and one chef from either team will be crowned that episode’s Most Valuable Chef, who will be given an important decision to make in a cook-off that will have a significant impact on who gets eliminated that week.
The winner of “Yes, Chef!” will take home the $250,000 grand prize.
