Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon bring the chaos in this wedding showdown.
As a rom-com writer, this is one movie I’ve had on my radar for months – Prime Video is about to drop their film “You're Cordially Invited” on Thursday, Jan. 30. Starring two comedy legends in Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell, the story follows Jim (Ferrell), who just wants to throw the perfect wedding for his daughter (Geraldine Viswanathan). But things take a turn when he finds out the venue is double-booked, as Margot (Witherspoon) is planning her sister’s big day at the same time. As you can imagine, neither family is willing to back down and so chaos ensues… along with (what I can only guess) is a love connection? Find out when the film drops on Prime Video.

About ‘You’re Cordially Invited’
“You’re Cordially Invited” is a comedy that proves weddings are stressful - but two weddings at the same time? Total chaos. Will Ferrell plays Jim, a sweet but slightly clueless dad who’s determined to make his daughter’s big day perfect. Enter Reese Witherspoon as Margot, a no-nonsense reality TV exec who’s just as determined to nail her sister’s wedding. The catch? Both events are accidentally booked at the same venue on the same day. As the families battle over flower arrangements and dance floors, hilarity (and a little bit of heart) ensues.
The movie is written and directed by Nicholas Stoller, who knows his way around a great comedy. He’s the guy behind classics like “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” (remember the Dracula puppet musical?) and “Neighbors.” With Stoller in charge and two comedy legends leading the way, I’m legit excited to watch.
What other comedy movies can you watch on Prime Video?
If you’re looking for more great comedies on Prime Video, it delivers. There’s the classic comedy “Bridesmaids,” where Kristen Wiig leads an all-star cast in a hilarious tale of wedding chaos, friendship drama, and outrageous mishaps. There’s also “The Big Sick,” a heartfelt and funny rom-com based on a true story, blending cultural clashes with laugh-out-loud moments. Another great pick is “Knives Out,” a clever whodunit with a star-studded cast and twists that’ll keep you guessing. You can stream all these and more with a Prime Video subscription starting at $9 per month with ads.
