What happened in Season 1 of ‘Gen V’?
“Gen V” Season 1 takes place at Godolkin University, the only college for young, powered individuals known colloquially as “Supes.” The university is run by Vought, and students are placed in a competitive environment where they battle each other for a higher place in the rankings. At stake is a possible spot in The Seven, the beloved superhero team that keeps the world safe.
The series follows Marie Moreau, who enrolls at Godolkin to try to become the first Black woman in The Seven. But before long, she and her friends Andre, Jordan, Cate, and Emma find that there are dark secrets just under the surface at the school. Experiments are underway to develop an incredibly dangerous new weapon, and students are being used to further that research.
Marie’s team discovers these experiments, but is betrayed from within by Cate, who frees the imprisoned supes being used in the experiments. A bloodbath on campus is interrupted by Homelander, who confronts Marie’s group of friends. He frames Marie as a traitor for attacking her own kind, and she is imprisoned with Marie, Andre, Jordan, and Emma while Cate and her love interest Sam are hailed as heroes in the public.
